Welcome Back Seahawks & Happy New Year!
On behalf of all of our Simpson teachers, staff, and administration, We would like to wish everyone a happy and prosperous 2024! We also hope that everyone had a restful, memorable, wonderful Winter Break!
As we return from our Winter Break, we wanted to remind everyone that we are at the halfway point in our school year! There is so much to look forward to as we continue the school year.
Some new things to expect in the new year are:

Sharing and reviewing our new Simpson Strategic Site Plan

Upgrades to our Simpson Seahawk Recess Activities

Grand opening of our Simpson Parent Resource Center

Recruitment meetings for Simpson’s Dual Immersion Program slated to begin next school year for incoming Kindergarteners only

Please remember to monitor your students' progress and work in partnership with all of us here at Simpson Elementary School! Here are some areas you can keep support with:

Make sure your students come to school on time everyday - attendance is important!

Ensure your students are reading daily at home for 20 to 30 minutes or more.
-
Communicate with your child's teacher to ensure they are meeting our schoolwide iReady goals and pass two iReady lessons a week in both reading and math with 80% or higher.
-
Monitor that your child is checking out books from our school library and passing their Accelerated Reading (A.R.) quizzes.

Be sure that your child is following the Simpson PBIS Expectations

En nombre de todos nuestros maestros, personal y administración de Simpson, ¡me gustaría desearles a todos un feliz y próspero 2024! ¡También esperamos que todos hayan tenido unas vacaciones de invierno relajantes, memorables y maravillosas!
Al regresar de nuestras vacaciones de invierno, queremos recordarles a todos que ¡estamos en la mitad de nuestro año escolar! Hay mucho que esperar mientras continuamos el año escolar.

¡Recuerde monitorear el progreso de sus estudiantes y trabajar en asociación con todos nosotros aquí en la Escuela Primaria Simpson! Aquí hay algunas áreas en las que puede mantener el apoyo:

Asegúrese de que sus estudiantes lleguen a la escuela a tiempo todos los días: ¡la asistencia es importante!

DO YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO BE BILINGUAL?
The Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program is coming to Simpson!
We are excited to announce that the DLI program will be offered to our incoming Kindergarten students next year. Dual Language is a form of education in which students learn content and develop literacy in two languages. Research shows that learning a second language at a young age can benefit students in many ways.
If you are interested in enrolling your student and want to learn more, please attend one of the information meetings listed below.

What is the Dual Language Immersion Program?
The dual language immersion program is a form of education in which students learn content and develop literacy in two languages. The Dual Language Immersion Program in the Rialto Unified School District will provide instruction in English and Spanish.
Who can be a part of Dual Language Immersion?
* Students who begin Kindergarten in August 2024
* Native English speakers, native Spanish speakers or bilingual students
* Kindergarten enrollees from all areas of the Rialto Unified School District
What are the benefits of the Dual Language Immersion Program?
Current research shows that learning a second language can benefit students in the following ways:
* Accelerate academic success
* Enhance communication skills
* Develop an appreciation for diversity
* Gain future personal benefits such as enhanced career, business, and travel opportunities
